Kumwalo Update
Lovisa
Lovisa has fled her mother's home and now lives with a woman in the village of Kumwalo. With a sponsor, she can start school this August. Getting her enrolled requires a one-time $80 for uniform, supplies, and tuition, plus $35 for essential health needs — vaccines and a treated mosquito net. After that, ongoing sponsorship is just $30/month for tuition. Her total need of $115 can be shared among several supporters, with one regular sponsor covering her monthly school fees.
Babirye Benitah & Nakato Berinda
These twin girls are ready for school, and their mother, Namagembe Nalongo Fiidha, is doing everything she can to get them there. Revy recently provided her with a sewing machine, and she now earns enough to cover $25 of their $60 monthly tuition — she just needs a sponsor to help with the remaining $35/month. The girls are already vaccinated, and their mother will provide their school supplies. This family simply needs a partner to close the gap.

Learn about Uganda
“Pearl of Africa”
Uganda, known as the “Pearl of Africa,” is rich in culture and biodiversity. As the World Bank notes, the country has made progress in reducing poverty and expanding infrastructure, but many still lack access to quality healthcare, education, and clean water. Agriculture is central to the economy, with most Ugandans relying on it for their livelihood.
Young Population
The CIA World Factbook reveals that more than 75% of Ugandans are under 30, a young and dynamic population facing high needs for education, jobs, and healthcare. UNICEF highlights ongoing challenges such as child poverty, malnutrition, and limited school access. The United Nations is working with Uganda to close these gaps and promote sustainable development.
