What is our mission?

Revy's mission is to provide financial assistance to grassroots projects that have the goal of self-sufficiency, currently focusing on communities in rural Eastern Uganda.

Revy Foundation was established in 2021 as the US-based funding partner for the Byonabyangu Community Empowerment Foundation (BCEF), serving the Buyende and Jinja districts of Uganda.

In 2022, we began working with a group of women seamstresses in the village of Budhumbuli. These women now make napkins and aprons for Revy on their foot-pedal operated sewing machines. These sales provide supplemental emergency funds for short term needs in Uganda, when alerts come in from our Ugandan partner, BCEF.

The main goal of empowering women and children is achieved chiefly through educational scholarships, health/hygiene and entrepreneurial support.

About the Founder: Mary Ober

I've been a giver my whole life. My siblings can tell you about the time 6-year-old Mary gave away her beloved cuddly toy dog to comfort a classmate who lost their home in a fire. And the momentum has only increased over time: as a retired teacher, I joined my late husband's side in selling fair-trade creations from El Salvador, and since his passing in 2019 I have been called to multiply that calling into a non-profit foundation with a goal of long-term poverty reduction through education and entrepreneurial sponsorships.
