FAQs

The Revy Foundation and the Byonabyangu Community Empowerment Foundation (BCEF) specifically serve the communities in the Buyende and Jinja districts of Uganda. These areas of central and eastern Uganda are underserved by international humanitarian aid, as nearly all such resources are concentrated in western Uganda, especially in the region surrounding the capital city of Kampala. The Revy Foundation was established to serve as a secure and transparent US-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit channel so that people can donate directly to people and projects in this region of Uganda.
-
As a 501(c)(3) US nonprofit, all donations to the Revy Foundation are tax-deductible and 100% of project funds are securely transferred without service fees to our Ugandan counterpart, the Byonabyangu Community Empowerment Foundation (BCEF). This method guarantees that your generous contribution is fairly and wholly recognized and is only distributed to selected service projects via our trusted partners in Uganda, never corrupt middlemen.
-
The goal of the Revy Foundation is to transfer 100% of donations to help Ugandan communities. As such, we strive to keep our operating costs low and transparent.
Revy Foundation's current monthly operating costs run around $40 and include website maintenance and domain hosting fees. At present, these costs are paid for privately by founder Mary Ober, to ensure that maximum funds go to the Ugandan people and communities. (A future goal will be to develop sustainable support for these costs.)
If you wish to help support our mission with either an additional amount for emergency or new, as-yet-unsponsored needs, please check the appropriate boxes. Please email us any questions, or for more information. Byonabyangu Bright is in very frequent contact with our Founder and other Board members and alerts us to such needs as medical treatments needed for malaria or other diseases. New individual and community needs arise regularly.
